Follow-Up
What is this mysterious-sounding “follow-up”? Is it a code word for excessive alcohol consumption among service providers after work? In this context, should one expect obscene ulterior motives in the sense of “up” dragging? We solve the mystery in our explanation of terms.
What is a follow-up?
Since QM (quality management) has become widespread in all areas of working life, the term “follow-up” has also become a regular feature in the event and conference industry. It describes the follow-up and “debriefing” after the end of an event with the aim of building on what went well and learning from mistakes.
The connection to event participants is deepened through their feedback, and customer focus is strengthened. Sources of information that reveal guests' assessments include:
- Surveys or feedback questionnaires: After the event, questionnaires are sent to participants to gather their opinions.
- Thank-you letters: In addition to simply thanking participants for attending the event, these letters provide an opportunity to convey additional information or resources.
- Invitations to future events: These are effective tools for customer retention.
- Summary: A welcome service that provides participants with the key messages of the event, thereby underlining the event's objectives.
