Malteser Campus St. Maximilian Kolbe for events in Hamburg
The listed building with its concrete front and snail-shaped tower is considered Hamburg's most unusual post-war church.
Located in the young, up-and-coming and multicultural district of Wilhelmsburg, the building by architect Jo Filke was on the verge of demolition - but was saved. Friends of historical monuments and Hamburg citizens had campaigned for its preservation.
St. Maximilian Kolbe Church as an event location
In November 2022, Malteser reopened the former St. Maximilian Kolbe Church after extensive renovation work.
New rooms were built into the impressive nave. Thus, the striking building from 1974 has become a social civic center, where various offers for old and young take place.
The representative church interior - called the Plaza - as well as the two seminar rooms, which are also flooded with light, can be rented for events.
With an area of 300 m², the Plaza on the first floor offers sufficient space for events, presentations, Christmas parties, meetings or congresses with up to 200 guests. Film and photo shoots are also given a magnificent backdrop here.
The two seminar rooms on the upper floor are accessible barrier-free via an elevator. There you will find the ideal setting for meetings with 15 to 25 people. There is also a kitchenette on the upper floor.
The Malteser Campus St. Maximilian Kolbe team will be happy to support you in the successful planning and implementation of your event on site.
